There is a part of the movie that may be a little scary to younger viewers that involves the passover scene in which a frightening cloud descends apon the town and takes the breath of the sleeping elder children. Again you won't know all the words, unless you are a language buff, but you'll find yourself rewinding and listening to it again. The song they sing as they begin their journey won the Academy Award for best song and it deserved it because it gave me goose bumps and is sung in parts and harmony of many ages joined together and in Hebrew and English. The sea life may be a little over exagerated, but who was beautiful. It ends with Moses and his flock as they just crossed the Red Sea which was a nother wonderful artistic accomplishment. The story starts with the placing of Moses' basket in the river by his loving mother (and pay attention to the water.WOW, I wish I could paint like that! You'll forget you are watching a cartoon!) The music will have you humming the tunes even if you don't know the words. But this one set a new high in standards and I own this one.Įven if you aren't overtly religious you'll enjoy this movie because of the way the script was written and the quality of the animation is fantastic. I'm usually not a big fan of animated Bible stories, what with most of them being poor in quality and story line. If the "Passion of the Christ" was a little too bloody for you and you want a good uplifting movie, then this is it.
